Although the project navigator can be used with VisionREZ, it is not necessary nor intended or designed for use on residential projects. VisionREZ has a variable manager, pre-established layer sets and display configurations to enable the same and even more capabilities for residential projects than the project navigator.

The VisionREZ variable manager allows the presetting of not only floor levels as does the project navigator but heights of items per floor such as: interior, exterior and half wall heights; door and window heights; header heights and floor system thickness.

Items that can have multiple levels such as residential roofs with varying plate heights do not require the presetting of an elevation using VisionREZ.

The VisionREZ process keeps all components of a project in one drawing file. This ensures that all components are available when sending files to others or creating takeoffs. This also enables items to have automatically updated relationships such as plumbing, cabinets, appliances and electrical items anchored to walls or each other.

Typical residential drawing views such as working drawings, electrical drawings, working drawings with electrical, framing drawings, presentation drawings and model drawings are pre-defined in VisionREZ per level.

At any time, any of these views can be established per level with the pick of a button. The user never has to create a project structure, divisions, levels, constructs, views or sheet sets used in the project navigator when using the VisionREZ process.

Using a VisionREZ viewport layer set automatically tags that viewport with that layer set name. View ports also remember the display configuration used.

When plotting any number of tabs, VisionREZ can automatically update all view ports across all tabs, simultaneously.

This is not possible using the project navigator. The VisionREZ process however, gives multiple additional capabilities and a simplified drawing format when creating a residential set of construction documents.

This does not include the hundreds of MV Blocks that will need to be re-drawn for metric. Message 12 of Terry, have you checked out the visionres websites gallery? Can you imagine a client in the UK being even able to afford the ground space to build one of these houses? One third of these would do a British family and in London that one-third would be at the same cost as the whole building in the US!

Can't we get some ground space at low cost, clients with money, and planning authorities that don't demand cheap ' n ' nasty inditikit houses here too?
